SPO inaugurate toilet facility at JPMC

KARACHI:Strengthening Participatory Organization (SPO) and Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC) collaborated and coordinated efforts and resources to support the current COVID-19 pandemic response and under this collaboration, SPO with the financial assistance of Water Aid have constructed one permanent toilet and placed three portable hand washing stations, each equipped with liquid soap, in JPMC’s emergency ward, Corona Center and Eye Ward.

The SPO will also continue to contribute to the ongoing initiatives of the JPMC related to the pandemic response. An Inauguration Ceremony of the toilet facility was held here Tuesday. Present on the occasion were SPO’s Regional Coordinator Mr. Pirbhu Lal Satyani and JPMC’s Executive Director Dr. Seemi Jamali. Also present at the ceremony were JPMC’s senior management members, senior doctors, officials of the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), SPO team members and Dr Yahya Khan Tunio, Deputy Executive Director JPMC.

Dr. Seemi Jamali lauded SPO’s COVID-19 Response Initiatives during the COVID-19 pandemic and the dire need JPMC had for having these hand washing stations and toilet facility as it is a hospital with a large number of coronavirus patients. She also applauded SPO’s efforts to raise awareness within the communities in Pakistan to help them prevent and protect themselves and their families against the coronavirus.

Strengthening Participatory Organization (SPO) is a rights-based service delivery organization is currently serving in more than 50 districts across the country in sectors of health, education, sustainable livelihood, climate change, digital knowledge and cultural and tourism promotion.
