Srinagar, September 07, 2018 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC), Syed Ali Gilani has strongly condemned the use of force against the civil population and the families of freedom activists by the Indian troops and police. Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar said, “Vandalizing the property of freedom activists’ families and intimidating them on daily basis is highly deplorable. None of the international laws permits any such action against the unarmed civilians.”
The APHC Chairman while referring to the arrest of two sons of prominent freedom leader, Syed Salahuddin, by India’s National Investigation Agency (NIA) and damaging the house of freedom activist, Lateef Tiger, by the Indian forces’ personnel said that these measures were aimed at building pressure on the freedom-loving people.
Syed Ali Gilani denounced frequent arrest of Hurriyat leaders and activists under draconian law, Public Safety Act, and said that Muhammad Amin Dar, District President of Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League had been booked on fictitious grounds of detention and lodged in Kot Bhalwal jail in Jammu. He expressed his anguish over the nocturnal raids by the Indian police and troops to intimidate the family of Manzoor Ahmed Lone, a Hurriyat activist hailing from Lelahar area of Pulwama.
The APHC Chairman called upon the international human rights organizations to take cognizance of the gross human rights violations perpetrated by the India forces’ personnel in occupied Kashmir and help in resolving the long-pending Kashmir dispute in accordance with the Kashmiris’ aspirations.
