COVID shows how critical health is to country’s security: Dr Sania

Islamabad, October 19, 2020 (PPI-OT):Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Social Protection Dr Sania Nishtar represented Pakistan at an online event, arranged by the World Bank Group to highlight current challenges to poverty reduction.

Participating in the debate, she said the COVID-19 pandemic has shown like never before how critical health is to the security of each country.

She said Pakistan has been extremely responsive working across all ministries to ensure a one government approach to health, poverty alleviation and ensuring an economic recovery that works for everyone.

Nobody will be allowed to speak against Pakistan Army: Ashrafi

Islamabad, October 19, 2020 (PPI-OT):Special Representative to the Prime Minister on Religious Harmony Maulana Muhammad Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi has said that nobody will be allowed to speak against Pakistan Army.

Addressing the Istehkam-e-Pakistan conference in Lahore, he said Nawaz Sharif and Asif Zardari have only one agenda and it is just to save themselves from corruption cases and to protect their looted money.

Opposition Gathered to Protect their Vested Interests: Shibli

Islamabad, October 18, 2020 (PPI-OT):Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Shibli Faraz has said there was nothing in the national interest in Gujranwala show by the rival opposition parties having different personal agenda. Talking to a private news channel, he said there was also no unity, faith and discipline in the opposition’s flopped show. Comparing the opposition’s campaign with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s sit-ins and public processions, the Minister said that Imran Khan was leading a popular mass movement due to his national agenda, which was also in the interest of the people and the country.

Shibli Faraz said that the opposition’s show in Gujranwala was flopped despite holding it in the hometown of Nawaz Sharif’s in-laws and stronghold of the PML-N. He said the speakers used derogatory language in the public gathering aiming to create provocation and political anarchy in the country.

Pakistan’s Economy Stable despite Impacts of Covid-19: Asad

Islamabad, October 18, 2020 (PPI-OT):Minister for Planning and Development, Asad Umar has said that Pakistan’s economy remained stable despite deteriorating situation world over due to Coronavirus pandemic. Speaking at a private news channel, he said that the global economies, particularly the US economy collapsed due to Covid-19 situation, while the Indian economy also faced worst ever deficit.

The Minister warned that second wave of Coronavirus has gripped the entire world and number of cases could increase in the country in case of negligence. Replying to a question, he said the government is taking action against sugar mafia. Answering yet another question, Asad Umar said PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif is speaking in Indian tone while sitting abroad in London.

Speaker Na Inaugurates Pehur High Level Canal Extension Project In Swabi

Islamabad, October 18, 2020 (PPI-OT):Speaker National Assembly, Asad Qaisar says the government has formulated a comprehensive plan to control inflation and initiate strict action against elements involved in hoarding. Addressing the inauguration ceremony of Pehur Canal Extension in district Swabi, he said the government is focusing to improve economic conditions of people and soon the country would be in a new phase of progress and prosperity. The Speaker said that extension of Pehur Canal would irrigate 13,000 kanals of land and bring revolutionary change in socio-economic conditions of people living in district Swabi.

He said that Rashakai Economic Zone would prove to be a milestone achievement in developing the area and help creating employment opportunities for the people. Asad Qaisar said that the government has planned various schemes for facilitation of farmers and a committee would be constituted relating to agriculture sector with a representation of all stakeholders.

Govt Making All Out Efforts To Bring Down Prices Of Essential Items: Shibli

Islamabad, October 17, 2020 (PPI-OT):Minister for Information and Broadcasting Shibli Faraz says the government is taking all possible measures to bring down inflation. Talking to a private television channel, he said the government is well aware of the masses’ problems and taking all necessary measures to ensure prices of food items at controlled rates. The Information Minister said the COVID-19 pandemic has left negative impact on the economy of many countries including Pakistan.

To a question, he said there was gap in demand and supply of wheat and sugar due to which people had to face difference in their prices .However, he assured that all out efforts would be made to bring down the prices of essential items in three to four weeks. Meanwhile in a tweet, the Information Minister said the creation of Pakistan Democratic Movement and the public meeting of Gujranwala proved that only Prime Minister Imran Khan is standing against the status quo. He said Imran Khan and the people are on one side, while the corrupt elements are on the other side.
