Karachi, June 25, 2018 (PPI-OT): Provincial minister for labour and human resources Simon John Daniel visited SESSI Landhi healthcare facility and went around emergency, various wards, operation theaters, laboratories, store rooms, kitchen and pharmacy. Medical superintendent Dr. Junaid Rajpoot and deputy medical superintendent Dr. Zulifqar Memon briefed him about the medical facilities being provided to workers and their families.
Provincial minister disappointed while checking medicine in the pharmacy and added that what kind of medicine was being provided to patients? “Eighty percent of medicine was of local companies”, provincial minister observed. He sought last six month details of medicine procurement from the medical superintendent.
Earlier M.S Landhi hospital Dr. Rajpoot told that this 225 bed hospital was dealing with largest OPD and also delivering health care facilities to patients of interior Sindh. He said that we were facing shortage of funds and consultants. Referring to security of the hospital, deputy superintendents Dr. Zulfiqar Memon said that private security company hired, has very low standard and suggested for providing security of Rangers’ standard due to surrounding environment of area.
On the occasion, union leaders of workers also met with caretaker provincial minister and presented suggestion pertaining to improvement in health facility to workers. Union leaders told that patients were often referred to Jinnah and civil hospitals due to shortage of consultants/specialist doctors. Union leaders demanded to refer them to highest standards health care facilities like Agha Khan Hospital. Provincial minister assured them to solve their issues and called them for detailed meeting at his office.
