Speaker and Acting Speaker expresses grief over loss of lives in road accident at D.G Khan

Islamabad, October 22, 2018 (PPI-OT): Asad Qaiser Speaker and Qasim Khan Suri Acting Speaker, National Assembly expressed their heartfelt grief and sorrow over the loss of precious lives in road accident Multan Road, Dera Ghazi Khan. In their separate condolence messages, the Speaker and Acting Speaker said that they were shocked to learn the sad news about the tragic incident. They prayed for the departed souls and sympathized with families of deceased. They also prayed for the early recovery of injured and directed authorities to provide best medical treatment to injured.

Speaker KP Assembly calls on NA Speaker

Islamabad, October 16, 2018 (PPI-OT): Speaker Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Mushtaq Ghani called on Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser, at Parliament House on Tuesday. The matter related to current political, economic situation in the country and mutual interest were discussed in the meeting.

The Speaker National Assembly said that the provincial governments and federal government will have to work together to resolve the problems faced by the country. He said that the country was passing through difficult economic situation. “Pakistani nation is a brave and steadfast nation and will aware how to combat such situation”, the Speaker said.

Asad Qaiser said that federal and provincial governments should enact the Legislation to solve the matters of public importance on priority basis. He said that the present Government believes in empowerment and autonomy of the provinces. He emphasized the regular contacts between the Provincial assemblies and National Assembly. He assured all out cooperation of the National Assembly Secretariat with Provincial Assemblies in Legislation and Research sectors and capacity building of their Staff.

Speaking of on the occasion, Speaker Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Mushtaq Ghani said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governments stand with Federal Government to confront the challenges being faced by the country. He said that all the stakeholders have to work together to overcome the crisis. He thanked Speaker National Assembly for extending the support to enhance capacity building of staff of the Khyber Pakhtunkhawa Assembly.

National Assembly Secretariat decides to auction vehicles in light of Prime Minister Austerity Measures

Islamabad, October 12, 2018 (PPI-OT): The National Assembly Secretariat has decided to auction vehicles in light of the austerity measures of Prime Minster of Islamic Republic of Pakistan Imran Khan. This decision was taken on the direction of Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser.

According to the decision six used vehicles and a motor bike of National Assembly Secretariat will be auctioned on 24th October, 2018, including one Mercedes Benz, four Toyota Corollas, one Suzuki Bolan and one motor bike Honda CG-125. The Auction will be held in the Parking Area of Parliament House, Islamabad. The Vehicle can be inspected in the Parking Area of Parliament House Islamabad from 11.00 a.m to 1.00 p.m.

The National Assembly Secretariat has already issued Auction Notice in this regard which has been published in National Newspaper on 4th October, 2018. This Auction Notice is also available on National Assembly Secretariat website www.na.gov.pk and Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) website www.ppra.org.pk. Pakistan Can Be Lead towards the Path of Progress and Prosperity through Consensus and National Solidarity: NA Speaker

Islamabad, October 11, 2018 (PPI-OT): The Central Leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Ejaz Ahmed Chaudhary called on Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser in the Parliament House. The matters pertaining to overall political and economic situation in the country were discussed.

The Speaker said that people have lot of expectations from the present Parliament and he was tried to come up to the expectations of the people. He said that to solve the issues of national importance through Parliament was best interest of the country. He said that it was his utmost attempt to bring the issues of national importance on the floor of the House. He said that peaceful environment of the House was necessary for enactment of effective legislation and consultation will be made to achieve this objective with Leaders of the Parliament Parties in the National Assembly. He said that we have to work together to uphold sanctity of the Parliament and stability of democracy in the country.

The Speaker said that at present the country was facing financial crunch and it was necessary to take immediate measures to overcome these difficulties. He said that with national solidarity and consensus, we can lead the country on the path of progress and prosperity. He appreciated the role of Ejaz Ahmed Chaudhary for mobilizing party workers in Punjab.

Central Leader of Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Ejaz Ahmed Chaudhary has said that Government of Punjab was taking steps to resolve the public issues and to eradicate poverty, corruption, illiteracy and unemployment according to the Prime Minister Imran Khan vision. He said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has become largest political party and it is his utmost strives to organize the party more efficiently.

NA Speaker urged the need for promotion of Harmony between the Federation and Provinces to confront challenges faced by the Country

Islamabad, October 10, 2018 (PPI-OT): Governor Khyber Pakhtoon Khawa Shah Farman called on Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser at Parliament House today. The matters pertaining to law and order situation in Khyber Pakhtoonkhawa and over all political and economic situations in the country was discussed in the meeting.

Speaking on the occasion the Speaker National Assembly congratulated Shah Farman on assuming the portfolio of Governor Khyber Pakhtoonkhawa. He said that appointment of Shah Farman as Governor Khyber Pakhtoonkhawa is good omen for progress and development of the Province. He expressed the hope that under his sagacious leadership the Province would lead towards the path of progress and prosperity. He said that progress and prosperity of the country depends upon the cordial relations between Federation and Provinces. He urged the need for promotion of harmony between the Federation and Provinces to confront challenges faced by the country at present. He said that the country is passing through a critical time and we have to work together to get the country out of these difficult situation.

The Governor Khyber Pakhtoonkhawa Shah Farman thanked the Speaker for his kind remarks and briefed him about the ongoing development projects and security situation in the Province. He said that development of the Province solving the problems facing by the people of the Province and cordial relations between Federation and Province was his foremost priority. He said that Provincial Government taking steps on priority basis for progress and development and maintenance of law and order situation in the Province.

Earlier the Former Speaker National Assembly Syed Fakhar Imam met with Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser. The matters related to overall political situation in the country and mutual interests were discussed in the meeting. The Speaker said that stability of democratic institutions was inevitable for the economic stability and progress of the country.

He said that all political parties present in the parliament have to play their role for strengthening the democratic institutions and to cope with the challenges being confronted to the country. “ You are a senior and seasoned member of this august House and your presence in the House is a fortune for the members of this House, he added”. He said that senior members should play their due roles for enhancing sanctity of the House and to keep the environment the House peaceful.

Former Speaker Syed Fakhar Imam has said that role of the opposition in the House is very important to keep the environment of House peaceful and for the security and economic stability it is imperative to take all the political parties on board.

Pakistan Armed Forces have a unique place in world due to their superior professional capability: NA Speaker

Islamabad, October 10, 2018 (PPI-OT): The Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser has said that Pakistan Armed Forces were among the best armed forces in world and have a unique place in the world due to their superior professional capabilities. He expressed these views while addressing participants of 201 Course of National Defence University (NDU) who visited the Parliament House under the leadership of Major General Fayyaz Hussain Shah, Commandant Armed Forces War College and met with Speaker National Assembly today.

The Speaker said that our Armed Forces always combat the difficult situations with steadfastness and bravery. During the natural catastrophes including earthquake 2005, floods and elimination of terrorism, the Pakistan. Army rendered valuable services. He said that we have to work together for development and progress of the country and have adopt collective thinking rather than individual thinking. He stressed the need for cohesion between all the institutions to overcome the difficulties being faced by the country. He said that we have to think that this country has given us everything and what we have given in return to it. He said that we can achieve our destination by promoting unity and solidarity in our ranks.

On this occasion the Special Secretary National Assembly Qamar Sohail Lodhi gave comprehensive briefing to the participants about the formation and working of the National Assembly and its Committees.

Major General Fayyaz Hussain Shah Commandant Armed Forces War College thanked the Speaker for his remarks and said that the Parliament is the supreme constitutional institution of the country and its respect is obligatory for all citizens. He told the Speaker that the decision of this visit was taken before initiation of 210 Course.

National Assembly Speaker stresses need for Legislation on Important National issues with consensus

Islamabad, October 09, 2018 (PPI-OT): Federal Minister for Law and Justice Farogh Naseem called on Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser at Parliament House on Tuesday. The matters pertaining to upcoming session of the National Assembly and legislation on important national issues were discussed in the meeting.

The Speaker said that the current political situation and other important matters in the country should be resolved in the Parliament. Emphasizing the need for active enactment of legislation in order to provide relief to masses he said that the legislation on important national issues will be carried out with consultation of leaders of all Parliamentary Parties in the House.

He said that to resolve the national issues in the Parliament was in best interest of the country and he wanted that matters of national importance including law and orders situation, water and energy crises and stability of economy in the country should be discussed in the House in detailed.

Asad Qaiser said that all the political parties in the National Assembly need to be involved in for the security and economic stability in the country. He said that Standing Committees were the important components of the Parliament and their early completion was necessary for prompt enactment of legislation. He said that to bring the country out of crises was our common responsibility and Parliament is the best forum to resolve the problems confronted to the masses. He said that all heads of Parliamentary Parties have to play the role to keep the environment of House peaceful.

Minister for Law and Justice Farogh Naseem has said that in order to resolve the issues of the public the Government was serious in enactment of legislation and believed that Parliament is a supreme Institution and was inevitable for resolving the public issues and legislation. He assured the all-out cooperation of the Government in keeping the House environment peaceful and strengthening of its sanctity.
