The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) today expressed its appreciation for the government’s decision to extend the tax return filing deadline by 15 days.

This development, seen as a significant respite for the business sector, underscores the administration”s dedication to fostering public-private collaboration. Faheem-ur-Rehman Saigol, representing LCCI, extended heartfelt thanks to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, and Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Chairman Rashid Langrial for addressing LCCI”s persistent request. He emphasized that this timely intervention would not only aid traders but also bolster confidence and trust between the business sector and the authorities.

The business community is recognized as a crucial pillar of Pakistan”s economy, consistently contributing to national progress. Acknowledging their needs, the government has exhibited its earnestness in developing a more conducive business environment and advancing economic growth.

LCCI Senior Vice President Tanveer Ahmad Sheikh and Vice President Khurram Lodhi noted that the chamber has persistently spotlighted the difficulties traders face, playing a pivotal role in presenting their issues across various platforms. The LCCI officials highlighted that the extension would be especially advantageous for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), which often encounter hurdles in meeting tax filing deadlines due to time limitations.
