Islamabad’s Deputy Inspector General of Police, Muhammad Jawad Tariq, has declared that bridging the gap between law enforcement and the public is a foremost objective for the capital’s police force, identifying community-oriented strategies as the essential method to achieve this goal.

Speaking as the chief guest at a cricket tournament organized by the Islamabad Sports Journalists Association on Wednesday, the senior police official emphasized the crucial role of community policing in creating a peaceful society.

DIG Tariq highlighted that athletic events provide an excellent platform for fostering positive interactions between police officers and residents. He conveyed that such activities not only encourage a healthy lifestyle but also significantly reinforce the connection between the police and the community they serve.

“Community policing is the key to fostering social harmony,” he stated, underscoring that sports are an effective medium for establishing rapport and mutual confidence.

He further assured attendees that the Islamabad Police is dedicated to cultivating amicable relations with the public and the media. DIG Jawad Tariq reiterated that enhancing the police-public relationship remains a principal concern for his department.
