The US dollar was traded at a higher value in the open market compared to the interbank rate on Monday, highlighting a persistent gap between the two, according to figures released by the Exchange Companies Association of Pakistan.

In the open market, the American currency was quoted with a buying price of PKR 281.28 and a selling price of PKR 281.65. This contrasts with the interbank market, where the greenback was valued at PKR 280.60 for buying and PKR 280.80 for selling.

The Euro also demonstrated a strong position against the local currency, with its buying rate recorded at PKR 323.67 and the selling rate reaching PKR 326.57.

Similarly, the British Pound Sterling maintained its high value, being exchanged at a purchasing rate of PKR 367.91 and an offering rate of PKR 371.21.

The exchange rate for the Japanese Yen was noted at PKR 1.78 for buying and PKR 1.83 for selling.

Among currencies from the Gulf region, the UAE Dirham was priced at PKR 76.65 (buying) and PKR 77.39 (selling). The Saudi Riyal stood at a buying value of PKR 74.97 and a selling value of PKR 75.55.
