Gwadar:On the instructions of the Director General Abdul Rashid Sheikh, Directorate General of Intelligence and Investigation (Customs), Islamabad, Muhammad Ismail, Director, Intelligence and Investigation (Customs), Gwadar, directed the Assistant Director Muhammad Saleem Khokhar and teams to make all-out efforts to curb smuggling of non-duty paid and contraband items completely in their jurisdiction.
Consequent upon this strategy, the Directorate in the month of September 2020 has seized smuggled non-duty paid / contraband goods including betel nuts, Iranian diesel, NCP vehicles, busses / vehicles, electronic goods, artificial jewelry and other smuggled goods.
In total 43 seizure cases valuing Rs.74.094 million have been made involving the evasion of duty / taxes to the tune of Rs.28.042 million. The Director has further instructed the Assistant Director to coordinate with other Law Enforcement Agencies i.e., Frontier Corps, Maritime Security Agency, Pakistan Coast Guard, Anti-Narcotics Force, Federal Investigation Agency, Baluchistan Police and other local departments in this regard.
