KHAIRPUR:Two medical teams consisting of 17 senior specialist doctors of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Medical University (SMBBMU), Larkana, will leave Larkana on Monday for Tharparkar where they will established medical camps.
The teams will be led by Vice Chancellor (VC), Prof. Dr. Aneela Atta-Ur-Rahman. They will organize free medical camps at various drought-hit remote areas of poverty-stricken district of Tharparkar, examine poor patients and give them free medicines. The teams will consist of Child Specialists, Gynaecologists, Ultrasound Specialists and two doctors of Community Medicine.
The senior lady doctors include Prof Rafia Baloch, Prof Shahida Magsi, Dr. Shazia Jatoi, Dr. Lashmi, Dr. Marvi, Dr. Kanwal and Dr. Rabail Soomro, whereas child specialists include Prof. Dr. Saifullah Jamro, Prof. Dr. Abdul Hamid Shaikh, Prof. Dr. Arbab Junejo, Dr. Shanti Lal and Dr. Muhammad Anwar Shaikh.
Dr. Saeed Shaikh and Dr. Adnan Wahab Qureshi will participate as public health specialists whereas Dr. Farheen Soomro and Dr. Sangeeta will include as Ultrasound specialists. VC Dr. Aneela told newsmen here on Sunday that these teams will establish medical camps in far-flung areas of Tharparkar for two days and will raise awareness among the poor women about the importance of Mother and Child Healthcare. She said all the patients will be fully examined and they will be provided required medicines free of cost.
