ISLAMABAD:Adviser to Prime Minister on Finance and Revenue Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh has said that the government is striving for an export-led growth in the country.
He was talking to British High Commissioner to Pakistan Dr Christian Turner who called on him here on Thursday. Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh said we want quality growth which is led by exports and investments and not driven by mere consumption which was a pattern in the previous government.
He welcomed the gesture of the British government in changing its travel advisory for Pakistan and said the PTI government is pursuing a broad-based economic reforms agenda by reducing interventions in the market and promoting privatization process which had been neglected in the last 14 years.
The British High Commissioner said his country supports the ongoing economic reforms in Pakistan and sees economy as a key area for future collaborations.
