KARACHI:Adviser to Sindh Chief Minister on Information and Archives, Law, and Anti-Corruption Barrister Murtaza Wahab said Tuesday that Sindh government was fully committed to solving the problems faced by the laborers in Sindh province.
“Upgrading the living standard of laborers and their families by strengthening labor laws is the priority of the Sindh government. Giving deserving credit to the laborers community,” he said in his Labour Day message. The adviser said that the development and economic progress of our country would have not been possible without the tireless pains of our vital labour force.
He said that Labour Day was an opportunity to acknowledge the contributions of labour community. Wahab said that following the vision of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Benazir Bhutto, Pakistan Peoples Party under the leadership of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari was striving for better standard of living for the working class.
The adviser said that essential legislation would be made for protecting the rights of the working community. He said that the contribution of Pakistan’s workforce must be recognized as it was a vital pillar of our society. He said that today was the day to honor the workers for their long and arduous struggle. Labour Day was an opportunity to recognize and pay tribute to the contributions the labourers had made for the progress, prosperity and wellbeing of our country, he added.
Wahab felicitated members of country’s labour force in both the public and private sectors for their contribution and untiring struggle. The adviser also reaffirmed the Sindh government’s commitment to protecting the dignity of labourers. It was essential to ensure their welfare and payment of proper and timely remuneration for their services, he added.
