Islamabad: Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) has said that the patients are allowed to import small quantities of medicines for their personal use with permission of the authority.
In a statement , the Authority said they can apply to DRAP offices located in capital and provincial headquarters for import permission.
It said there are few medicines which are not registered in Pakistan due to patent issues or other reasons and the Authority ensures that patients have access to such medicines for all ailments.
It said if a registered medical practitioner prescribes any un-registered medicine, patient can import it for personal use.
The Drug Regulatory Authority said the applicants can approach DRAP along with simple application and CNIC and original prescription of the physician.
