ISLAMABAD:In occupied Kashmir, complete shutdown is being observed today (Friday) to mark the fifth martyrdom anniversary of Kashmiri leader, Mohammad Afzal Guru.
Call for the shutdown has been given by the Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Mohammad Yasin Malik.
The Hurriyet leadership has also called for peaceful protests after Friday prayers to press the demand for the return of the mortal remains of Mohammad Afzal Guru and Mohammad Maqbool Butt, from New Delhi’s Tihar Jail to occupied Kashmir.
The puppet authorities have put Hurriyat leaders including Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Mohammad Yasin Malik under house arrest or in detention to prevent them from leading anti-India demonstrations.
