KARACHI:Karachi Medical and Dental College (KMDC) faculty members’ protest demonstrations and boycott of education activities entered the 16th day on Monday.
The protestors are demanding their pending salaries of four months.
The faculty members including assistant professors, professors and associate professors have been deprived of their salaries since May 2019. They are also not paid their arrears and increments for several months.
The faculty members also continued boycott of OPDs at KMDC Dental Hospital, Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH), as well as, educational activities.
The boycott of classes has put the future of medical 1600 students at stake while score of patients also denied treatment facilities for last two weeks due to the protest of doctors.
The protesters said the KMDC has been facing acute financial crisis while Sindh government and Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) are not sincere to resolve this matter.
They said protest demonstration and boycott of educational activities will continue till release of their pending salaries and allowances.
