KARACHI:Medical Superintendent of Civil Hospital Karachi Dr Khadim Hussain Qureshi has said that research and experiments are the basis for success in any field of the world.
Despite the fact that 72 years have been passed, we still donot have any research in medicine and science, he said while addressing the closing ceremony of research papers competiton between government and private nursing schools, organized by Saint James School of Nursing in Arts Council of Pakistan.
The students who took positions and their teachers were also rewarded with awards and prizes. Director Nursing Sindh Shabbir Hussain Jatyaal, James Walt, Ms Zaidi, Perveen Imdad, Principle of School Doris Lawrence, Babar Islam and others also addressed the ceremony.
Qureshi appreciated education, training and co-curricular activities of private nursing school and said due to less teachers, insufficient experimental apparatus in laboratories and absence of co-curricular activities in government schools of private sector is far better in quality of nursing.
Due to limited resources and opportunities in research, we are left behind in medicine and research from our neighbours. He said that he had issued 6 nursing research papers in his journal after sending them to researchers. Trend in nurses is also an example for doctors, and for a safe health system, a strong nursing department is necessary.
