Karachi: A 10-member delegation from PNS Bahadur led by Commodore Saqib Khatak Friday visited the Special Security Unit Headquarters and appreciated the management and existing professional standard of SSU Commandos.
The delegation visited various sections of SSU Headquarters and lauded the measures being adopted to further improve capabilities of Commandos aimed at to fight terrorism and ensure foolproof security.
Commandant SSU Maqsood Ahmed briefed about the functioning of various sections of SSU and informed about the measures adopted to setup country’s first Special Weapons and Tactics (S.W.A.T) team. He also briefed about advance professional training being provided to commandos and issuance of ISO certificate by United Kingdom Accreditation System (UKAS) Britain on maintaining international standard in the field of Performing Counter Terrorism Operations and Provision of Foolproof Security Services to Vital Installations, National and Foreign Dignitaries.
Maqsood Ahmed said that Pakistan Navy is providing counter terrorism training through its Navy Seals Commandos setup at Nathiagali from where two batch of SSU commandos have already passed out.
The Commandant appreciated the contribution and support by Pakistan Navy for providing modern tactical training to commandos of SSU and hoped that such training will continue in future.
Maqsood Ahmed further informed that the SSU is focusing maximum attention to provide all possible professional training to SSU commandos from various specialized training Units of Pakistan Army, Navy and Airforce to meet the modern challenges particularly in counter terrorism and security aspects.
The Naval Officers appreciated the professional standard maintained in the Unit for security and counter terrorism operations and assured that Pakistan Navy will continue to provide tactical training to commandos of Special Security Unit.
The Naval Officers witnessed the mock exercise conducted by the Commandos of Special Weapons and Tactics (S.W.A.T) team where hostile situation is created by terrorists.
Later, Commandant Maqsood presented SSU shield to Commodore Saqib Khatak.
Commodore Saqib Khatak also presented shield to SSU Commandant.
