KARACHI:Police arrested a suspected robber in injured condition after an alleged encounter in Landhi area of the city in the wee hours of Saturday.
According to rescue sources, a 29-year-old robber, Arsalan, son of Dawood, was looting citizens at gunpoint in Landhi No-4, when police team reached the scene. The accused opened fire on police team which was also retaliated by the police. During the shootout, the robber sustained bullet injuries in his leg. Police arrested him in injured condition.
Police also seized a 30-bore pistol, looted cash and other valuables from the possession of the accused. The police also pointed out that the culprit used to commit robberies in different areas. Two accomplices of the suspect, were apprehended a few weeks ago, police mentioned.
Police revealed that the accused was wanted to the police in several robbery cases. The injured robber was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center for treatment.
