KHAIRPUR:Power load-shedding upto 16 hours continued to hit many villages of Larkana and Khairpur districts within 24 hours on daily basis amid heat wave.
The social activities have been badly affected due to power outages while heat has hit people hard, affecting their health in both regions of Sindh province.
The load-shedding and warm weather have made the life of people miserable. There is need to bring halt in load-shedding so that people could take a sigh of relief. Worst sufferers are children and old men. Hot weather have also kept many people to stay homes.
Khairpur and Larkana districts also has hot climate, characterized by very hot and hazy summers. Dry heat is experienced starting April to early June until the monsoon season starts to arrive here. Monsoons are not very wet, but bring high dew points, resulting in high heat indices.
The power load shedding upto 15 hours is being carried out in Khairpur district’s all villages of 86 union councils of the Taluka Gambat that include Razi Dero Kacho, Noor Pur, Sagyoon, Ripri, Kamal Dero, Khemtia, Jadowahan and Belharo.
Khairpur is native district of Syed Qaim Ali Shah, who could even not resolve this issue during his chief ministership eras. Neither Nawaz Sharif and PPP government nor PTI government could resolve this issue till today. It seems that they had no responsibility in this regard.
Imran Khan during political campaigns on containers and election drive have made big claims of resolving power outages issue, but there is not progress yet.
The load-shedding and warm weather have made the life of people miserable. There is need to bring halt in load-shedding so that people could take a sigh of relief. There is need to provide relief to the villagers of Khairpur and Larkana districts as climate change has made these districts hotter one.
