KARACHI:The school van owners’ association across the city on Thursday announced to hold a day-long strike, demanding allowance from the authorities to use CNG and LPG cylinders in school vehicles.
According to President School Vehicles Association Abdul Kareem Khan drivers of school vans in the metropolis will not be providing pick and drop services to student until acceptance of their demands.
He also demanded government to return them 1500 CNG cylinders that were seized during police’s campaign against school vehicles with substandard CNG and LPG cylinders.
Following the strike, parents of the children faced difficulties today morning for dropping off their kids to schools.
It is worthy to mention here the crackdown started when six children were injured after their school van caught fire in Karachi’s Orangi Town on 5 January 2019.
