Karachi: Brothers pair of Khurram Asim and Shahrukh Asim smashed sparkling half centuries as they powered Nazeer Gymkhana in quarterfinals of KCCA Zone-I Challenge Cup T20 Cricket Tournament when they routed Hamdam Cricket Club by six wickets at State Bank of Pakistan Ground.
Right handed opener Khurram blasted 87 with eight sixes and seven sizzling boundaries after facing just 28 balls and captain Shahrukh banged an unbeaten 53 off 33 balls studded with four sixes and three fours as Nazeer Gymkhana chase down the mammoth total of 203 for four wickets in 17th over.
Earlier Hamdam CC put on board 202-2 in 20 overs thanks to flying opening stand of 128 runs between Salman Khan and Abdul Rehman.
Showing punishing mood, Rehman clubbed 13 boundaries and brace of sixes in his 54 balls and Salman’s 75 off 53 balls was laced with five fours and three sixes.
In another match, Kashan CC whipped Gulistan CC by seven wickets in a slow-scoring encounter.
