Karachi: Quetta Gladiators owner Nadeem Omar, who is also the President of Pakistan Cricket Club, congratulated his team Pakistan Cricket Club for winning the first Fazal Mahmood National Club Championship beating Town Cricket Club Sialkot in the final.
Pakistan Cricket Club was led by national skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed while other notable players included Asad Shafiq, Shaan Masood, Anwar Ali, Ramiz Raja Jr, Saud Shakil, Mir Hamza, Ali Asad, Danish Aziz, Mohammad Asghar and Faraz Ahmed Khan.
Nadeem, who also holds the post of Karachi City Cricket Association (KCCA) President, stated that Pakistan Cricket Club has made Karachi proud with the effort.
“Pakistan Cricket Club has shown over the years that it is one of the best clubs in Pakistan and by winning the All Pakistan Fazal Mahmood National Club Championship, the club has made Karachi proud,” Nadeem said.
“We’ll give rewards to the players after the Eid holidays in a glittering event. They deserve to get the reward because it’s not an easy feat to go all the way.”
The Gladiators owner also applauded the efforts of PCB for hosting such a big club cricket tournament.
“I must commend the efforts of PCB as they staged a club cricket event on such a massive scale. It’s unprecedented and I believe such club cricket and Inter-School competitions will provide us more talent and opportunities to youngsters,” he added.
Meanwhile, Quetta Gladiators Manager and Pakistan Cricket Club Secretary Azam Khan shared his happiness as well after his club annexed the national club title.
“Pakistan Cricket Club has won numerous tournaments in Karachi but winning the national club title is the biggest achievement. I’m so proud that our players are still committed to club despite being the stars of national team,” Azam said.
“I’m so proud that Pakistan Cricket Club continues to produce players for Pakistan all levels. These achievements are also the reason why these players are seen across Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchises and most notable Quetta Gladiators.”
