Karachi:Rashid Memorial Welfare Organization (RMWO) and Sindh Squash Association (SSA) is organizing the eighth edition of Rehana Nazar Rashidabad National Junior Squash Championship 2019 from January 26 to 30 at Rehana Nazar Squash Complex in Rashidabad District Tando Allahyar.
The tournament offers a lucrative prize purse of Rs400,000. Players will get a chance to feature in boys U-11, U-13 and U-19 and girls U-19 events.
The main draw will consist of 16 players – 12 players will get direct entry while remaining four berths will be up for grabs for qualifiers. Qualification draw size will be of 32 – 24 players getting direct entry while eight local players will get at a chance too to showcase their talent in the event.
The last date of entry is January 14. Entries should be sent to Rashid Ahmed, Secretary Sindh Squash Association (SSA).
Rashidabad is a project city 30 km from Hyderabad, launched by a group of PAF retired officers under Rashid Memorial Welfare Organization (RMWO). It has been inspired by the supreme sacrifice of Flt Lt Rashid Ahmed who in an attempt to save precious lives steered the burning aircraft away from thick population of Karachi. While he declined to eject, upholding the spirit of his PAF predecessors embraced martyrdom on December 1997. The city is a living monument in his memory- serving thousands daily in the field of education, health, social security and environment.
