Islamabad:A spokesperson of former President Asif Ali Zardari has dismissed the criticism on his speech in the National Assembly on August 7, 2019 by some elements alleging that the remarks were derogatory to those who migrated to Pakistan at the time of partition.
In a statement, spokesperson Aamir Fida Paracha said it was most unfortunate that some elements were deliberately distorting the remarks of the ex-President by putting their own words into his mouth to create dissensions and tarnish the image of the Party and former President.
He said Zardari has never uttered derogatory remarks about any section of society. He never intended to hurt the sentiments of anybody. Those who maliciously took Zardari’s comments out of context should be ashamed of themselves, he said.
