The Sajag Shehri Ittehad has accused contractors and extortionist elements of ruining the Taluka Hospital through corruption, depriving a population of hundreds of thousands of medical facilities, while the protest for better health services continued for the 57th consecutive day.
Continuing their long-standing movement today, the Sajag Shehri Ittehad held a protest march and sit-in in Kandhra village. The demonstration was attended by local villagers, social leaders, and various activists.
Addressing the gathering, alliance leaders including President Comrade Muhammad Rafi Laghari, Sufi Ghaffar Channo, and Comrade Asif Kathio stressed that health is a fundamental right of the public and a basic responsibility of the state, not a favor.
The speakers claimed that even in this modern era, due to collusion, the Nasirabad Taluka Hospital has turned into ruins, and its construction work has been incomplete for many years.
They further alleged that its associated rural health centers are suffering from a severe shortage of medicines and qualified doctors, and the responsible institutions, despite being aware of the crisis, remain silent spectators, eroding public trust.
The leaders demanded a transparent investigation from the Larkana High Court, NAB, and FIA into the alleged irregularities and corruption in the hospital’s construction. They demanded that the culprits be punished and the building’s construction work be immediately resumed to make it functional.
The Sajag Shehri Ittehad has vowed that their campaign will continue until the complete acceptance of all demands and that the struggle for public rights will be intensified.
