Pakistani information and communication technology (ICT) provider Supernet has rebranded to SupernetGlobal, unveiling a strategic pivot to target high-growth international digital markets in a move aimed at bolstering Pakistan’s IT exports and foreign exchange reserves.
According to a statement today, the company is setting its sights on a regional ICT market valued at over USD 230 billion annually across the Middle East and Africa.
This expansion is timed to capitalise on substantial regional technology spending, which is being propelled by large-scale government digitalisation initiatives, significant investments in cybersecurity, widespread cloud adoption, and the ongoing modernisation of enterprises.
Expenditure on cybersecurity alone in the region is anticipated to reach tens of billions of dollars within the next decade. Concurrently, the global satellite communications market, a key area of expertise for the firm, is estimated at between USD 90 billion and USD 108 billion for 2024-25, with significant growth projected by 2030. Satellite-related revenues in the Middle East are forecast to surpass USD 5 billion by the decade”s end.
Established in 1995, the organisation has nearly three decades of experience providing mission-critical services, including satellite connectivity and managed ICT solutions, to major clients in sectors such as banking, energy, telecommunications, and government.
Under its new identity, SupernetGlobal plans to export its established expertise. Dubai is set to become the firm’s initial regional hub, operating through its UAE subsidiary, Phoenix Global FZE, which has been active since 2018. While the Dubai office will serve international clients, core technical delivery, engineering, and managed services will remain anchored in Pakistan, reinforcing the nation’s position as a base for digital service exports.
The company”s international service portfolio will encompass cybersecurity, cloud and data solutions, managed ICT services, and smart/IoT platforms. Satellite connectivity will be central to its global strategy, facilitating services for industries such as aviation, maritime, energy, and operations in remote or underserved geographies.
The organisation has characterised its expansion strategy as measured and driven by partnerships, prioritising sustainable growth over rapid scaling. This approach acknowledges the regulatory complexities in international markets and highlights a focus on collaborating with licensed local operators and system integrators.
In a statement regarding the rebranding, the company explained that the move reflects an ambition to “participate meaningfully in global digital markets” while exporting Pakistani talent and technology. The strategy is designed to achieve international growth while simultaneously contributing to the nation’s IT export targets and long-term foreign currency earnings.
SupernetGlobal has confirmed that all its existing domestic operations and commitments to customers within Pakistan will continue without change.
