Azad Kashmir’s Senior Minister for Food, Technical Education, and KDA, Javed Iqbal Budhanvi, has said that the government is introducing a one-window system to make investment easier and faster for expatriates, and is urging the Kashmiri diaspora to establish industries and help transform the state into a developed business hub.
Speaking to the media on Sunday, the Minister for Food, Technical Education, and KDA, Javed Iqbal Budhanvi, emphasized that the Pakistan Peoples Party administration has ushered in a new era of economic stability and development in the region.
The minister described overseas Kashmiris as the “backbone” of the local economy, acknowledging their significant contributions through remittances that support both their families and the state.
He announced that for the first time, a structured platform is being established to facilitate the diaspora’s involvement in regional development. Budhanvi described the upcoming Overseas Convention as a “milestone” event, predicting that its positive outcomes would soon become apparent.
The minister confirmed that to address the challenges faced by expatriates, the government is establishing a special cell to resolve their legal, administrative, and investment-related issues.
Budhanvi highlighted the vast investment opportunities within the state, identifying significant potential in the tourism, agriculture, minerals, housing, and small and medium-sized enterprise sectors.
He detailed that the administration is taking practical steps to promote tourism, focusing on infrastructure, road construction, and the development of the hotel industry and recreational facilities.
He said that investments made by the diaspora are expected to create employment for the youth, reduce unemployment, and lead the region towards a strong and self-sufficient economy.
Javed Iqbal Budhanvi concluded that the government has embarked on a journey of development and prosperity, stressing that the state is moving towards a “new dawn” with vast opportunities for business and employment.
