A significant law enforcement operation in the federal capital has resulted in the apprehension of 41 individuals, alongside the recovery of a substantial cache of illegal drugs and weaponry, according to a police report today.
In one part of the operation, teams from the Karachi Company, Shalimar, Golra, Sumabl, Sangjani, Industrial Area, Humak, Bhara Kahu, and Shahzad Town police stations detained 17 accused individuals implicated in various criminal activities.
From the possession of these suspects, officers confiscated 421 gram of ice, 145 gram of heroin, 110 hashish, 210 bottles of liquor, and 10 pistols with ammunition. Formal cases have been registered against the detainees, and further investigations are proceeding.
Separately, a special campaign targeting wanted individuals led to the arrest of an additional 24 proclaimed offenders and absconders by various police units.
These actions are part of a continuing and effective crackdown against crime, following special directives from Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, to ensure peace and tranquility in the city.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operations, Qazi Ali Raza, stated that the Islamabad Police is committed to protecting the lives and property of residents. He affirmed that no elements would be allowed to disturb public peace and that protecting citizens remains the force”s top priority.
Authorities have also urged the public to report any suspicious activities to the relevant police station or the emergency helpline ‘Pucar-15’ immediately, emphasising that mutual cooperation between the police and citizens is essential to eradicate crime from society.
