Notorious fugitive dacoit, Yaseen Teghani, with a bounty of one million rupees, who was involved in the killing of a police constable, has surrendered himself to authorities today during the Nijat Mehran police operation in the area.
This development is being hailed as a major success in the Sukkur Police’s ongoing “Nijat Mehran Operation,” which is a targeted campaign against dacoits approved by the Sindh government. This operation is being conducted under the command of DIG Larkana/Sukkur Nasir Aftab and led by SSP Sukkur Azhar Khan.
Authorities have attributed this development to the continuous pressure on the dacoits in the kacha area and the clear ultimatum given to them, which stated that they should either voluntarily surrender or face decisive action during the police operation.
Teghani was wanted by law enforcement agencies in more than 30 cases of serious crimes, including his alleged involvement in the murder of police constable Arbab Chachar.
After surrendering, Teghani reportedly announced his repentance for his criminal past and urged his former accomplices to also surrender to the authorities.
Law enforcement authorities have reiterated their resolve that the “Nijat Mehran Operation” will continue until all criminal elements are eliminated and complete peace and order is restored in the kacha area.
A police statement reiterated their commitment, saying, “[We] are committed to protecting the lives and property of the public, eliminating crime, and establishing peace and order in the region.”
