A youth who was permanently disabled after being shot alleged at a press conference here today that the accused who attacked him are threatening him by making TikTok videos from inside a prisoners’ van under police custody.
Shoaib Kumbhar, who was paralyzed after being shot in the spine during an attack by armed assailants nine months ago, has appealed for protection after a case hearing at Sessions Court Thatta.
Addressing a press conference, Mr. Kumbhar maintained that the two main accused in his case, currently imprisoned in District Jail Thatta, are being provided illegal facilities by the police and jail administration.
He claimed that the accused are making and posting videos on social media using mobile phones from the prisoners’ van while being transferred for court appearances. These videos allegedly mock his disability and include threats to pressure him into withdrawing the case.
The physically disabled youth stated that he is living in severe physical pain and is under intense mental stress and anxiety due to constant harassment from the “influential” accused and their associates.
Expressing hope for justice from the judiciary, Mr. Kumbhar voiced concerns for his life and property, citing two nominated individuals and five other influential persons as the cause of his apprehension.
He demanded immediate protection and called for strict action against the officials allegedly facilitating the prisoners, stating that such measures are necessary to achieve justice.
