Law enforcement authorities in the city reported a week of intense anti-crime operations, resulting in 28 encounters with alleged robbers. In these exchanges of fire, four suspects were killed and 30 others injured, while 41 individuals were subsequently arrested.
During the past week, police operations in Karachi’s East, West, and South zones resulted in the detention of a total of over 1,302 suspects.
As part of an ongoing anti-narcotics campaign, authorities seized large quantities of illegal substances. These seizures include 35 kilograms and 109 grams of hashish, 4 kilograms and 863 grams of ice/crystal, and heroin worth millions of rupees, which were recovered from various locations.
Apart from the initial encounters, law enforcement agencies seized over 145 different types of illegal weapons and ammunition from arrested individuals, often linked to various criminal activities. Earlier recoveries from the 41 suspects arrested in direct encounters included 35 different types of unauthorized firearms and 17 motorcycles.
Furthermore, Karachi Police also recovered a total of 48 snatched and stolen motorcycles, along with a large vehicle, during operations carried out across the city.
A spokesperson for Karachi Police confirmed that efforts to eliminate crime, restore public order, and ensure the safety of citizens will continue.
