Srinagar, November 14, 2021 (PPI-OT):In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Anjuman Auqaf of Srinagar Jamia Masjid on behalf of the organisation and its president Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, has expressed deep grief over the demise of a leading religious personality and founding member of Tableeghi Jamaat in the territory, Haji Peer Shams-ud-Din Sahib who passed away on Friday.
The Anjuman in its condolence statement paid rich tributes to the late Peer Shamsuddin for his long, selfless religious, da’wah, preaching and social reform services. Peer Sahib spent his entire life in spreading and propagating the teachings of Islam and played an unforgettable role in creating a religious mood and understanding in the whole of Kashmir especially in Kupwara area.
The Anjuman, on behalf of itself and Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, termed the demise of Peer Shamsuddin as an irreparable loss to the religious circles. Meanwhile, a delegation of the Anjuman comprising Mufti Ghulam Rasool Samoon, Imam of Jama Masjid Srinagar, and Maulana M S Rehman Shams visited home of the deceased in Kupwara and expressed solidarity on behalf of the incarcerated Mirwaiz Umar Farooq to the bereaved family. The delegation members also offered Fateha for the deceased, Peer Sahib.
