KARACHI:The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Thursday granted interim bail to Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) Sardar Khan Chandio till December 17.
PPP MPA, fearing of the possible arrest by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), approached SHC for seeking an interim bail.
A two-member bench of the SHC, headed by, Justice Muhammad Iqbal Kalhoro, heard the interim bail plea filed by Chandio through his lawyer Zulfiqar Ali Langah.
The court granted interim bail to Sardar Khan Chandio against the surety bond of Rs0.1 million. The lawyer argued that NAB Sukkur has issued a call up notice to his client for appearing on November 17. He said the NAB has sought the record of his bank transactions.
The court directed the petitioner to co-operate with NAB in the investigation, while further hearing of the bail application has been adjourned till December 7.
The NAB is already conducting an inquiry against Sardar Khan Chandio for making assets in excess of income. Chandio has also been on bail in the inquiry into making assets beyond means sources.
