CHAMAN:Collectorate of Customs, Balochistan claimed to foiled the bid to smuggle thousands of kilogram fertilizers in an operation conducted at Customs House Chaman on Saturday. According to a statement issued by the media cell of Collectorate of Customs, Balochistan, during search of Hino Truck No. LEI-9261 laden with potatoes at Customs House, Chaman, thousands of kilogram fertilizers, to be smuggled to Afghanistan, were seized from the truck.
Statement said that driver of the Hino truck was apprehended and accordingly booked apart from lodging FIR against Exporter and Clearing Agent. Operation was conducted by staff of Customs House, Chaman led by Assistant Collector, Customs, Usman Aziz, Superintendent, Shafique Chaudry and Inspector Zubair Awan in compliance with the directives of Chief Collector, Collectorate of Customs, Balochistan, Muhammad Sadiq.
It is pertinent to mention that government of Balochistan has imposed complete ban on transportation of fertilizers within 10 kilometres radius of bordering areas (areas adjacent to neighbouring countries) of entire province of Balochistan.
