Peshawar, December 18, 2019 (PPI-OT): The Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Dr. Muhammad Naeem Khan has directed police high ups to establish DRCs (Dispute Resolution Councils) and PLCs (Public Liaison Councils) in the Newly Merged Districts with immediate effect so as to ensure provision of quick and easy dispensation of justice to the local people and maintenance of law and order in an effective manner.
These directives were given to CCPO Peshawar, RPOs Swat, DIKhan, Mardan, Kohat and Bannu in a special circular issued from CPO today. They have been directed in the circular to take practical steps for promoting community policing in the area and to achieve this goal constitute DRCs at district and sub-division level in all the Newly Merged Districts and Sub-Division and PLCs in all police stations level.
They have also been directed to put sincere efforts for solution of petty disputes of the tribal people and maintenance of law and order by inducting persons in these councils who are enjoying clear and good reputation and their hearts imbibed with the spirit to serve the community people. It has been stated in the circular that the DRCs and PLCs to be established must reflect the true culture, value and traditions of the tribal people. The DRCs and PLCs will conduct their respective business in a manner prescribed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police Act 2017, the circular concluded.
