SUJAWAL:On the directives of Chief Minister Sindh, Provincial Minister for Fisheries and Livestock Abdul Bari Pitafi presided over a cyclone emergency meeting at DC Office Sujawal to take precautionary measures and deal with the situation before heavy rains.
The provincial minister said that precautionary measures should be taken to protect the lives and property of the people before the cyclone-induced rains. He said that any negligence in this regard would not be tolerate as heavy rains had already been forecast along with the cyclone.
Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ismail Memon while briefing the meeting said that the district administration had prepared an emergency plan to deal with possible cyclone and heavy rains. In this regard, people were first evacuated from the beach and shifted to relief camps. Villagers to be affected by the cyclone and rain would be brought back to their homes once the water recedes. He said that in case of emergency, the services of Pakistan Army, Navy, Rangers and police as well as NGOs would be sought.
Minister Abdul Bari Pitafi expressed satisfaction over the security measures taken by the district administration to prevent people from expected cyclone and rains. He assured that during this difficult time, he and all the MNAs and MPAs of the district would take part in the relief work with the district administration.
The meeting was also attended by Deputy Commissioner Sujawal Muhammad Ismail Memon, Member National Assembly Syed Ayaz Shah Shirazi, Deputy Speaker Sindh Assembly Rehana Leghari, former Provincial Minister for Livestock and Fisheries Muhammad Ali Khan Malkani, Member Sindh Assembly Shah Hussain Shirazi and Heer Soho.
