The federal government has committed to resolving the acute electricity shortage confronting the local populations of Gilgit-Baltistan and Gwadar, according to the Minister for Planning and Development, Ahsan Iqbal.

The assurance was delivered while the minister was presiding over a Prime Minister”s special committee meeting held in the nation’s capital, according to an official report today.

Mr. Iqbal emphasized that the Prime Minister has issued directives to treat energy projects critical to Gilgit-Baltistan”s requirements as a high priority, demanding their execution within stipulated timelines.

The committee also reviewed a one-point-nine billion rupee water supply initiative being constructed in Gwadar city during the session.
