Governor Sindh Extends Independence Day Greetings to GB People

Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori today extended heartfelt congratulations to the people of Gilgit-Baltistan on their Independence Day, acknowledging their immense sacrifices and relentless struggle for freedom.

According to a statement issued from Sindh Governor House, speaking at a celebration organized by Gilgit-Baltistan students at Karachi University, he praised the people of Gilgit-Baltistan for their bravery and resilience, calling this historic day a tribute to the courage and sacrifices of their brothers and sisters.

The event was attended by a large gathering, including the university’s Vice Chancellor, deans, professors, faculty, and students. Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori also participated in a cultural show, joining students in Gilgit Baltistan traditional dancing.

During the celebration, Tessori announced a reserved quota for Gilgit-Baltistan youth in the free, modern IT courses offered under the Governor’s Initiative. He further pledged to provide laptops to students from the region, noting that Gilgit-Baltistan is a beautiful area rich in mineral resources. He also emphasized the renowned bravery, hospitality, and warmth of its people and highlighted their significant role in Pakistan’s growth and prosperity. Governor Sindh expressed his commitment to working together for Pakistan’s progress.

Later, as Chancellor, Governor Tessori visited Karachi University, touring the admission guidance camps set up by the administration. Engaging with students at the camp, he learned about the admission process and received feedback on various student concerns. Students expressed their surprise and delight at his presence, and he spent some time interacting closely with them. Students shared concerns regarding transportation and fees, to which he directed the university authorities to ensure all issues were addressed promptly.

Tessori commended Karachi University for its crucial role in promoting higher education and training, noting the enthusiasm of students guiding new entrants in the admission process as admirable and inspiring.
