Govt Pledges Enhanced Protections for 12 Million Overseas Workers

The federal government is implementing effective measures to protect the rights of approximately 12 million Pakistani expatriates.

This was informed by Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, Chaudhry Salik Hussain while speaking at an event in the capital marking International Migrants Day, according to an information today.

The minister affirmed that ensuring safe and organized overseas employment is a primary priority for the administration.

Hussain highlighted the critical role these overseas workers play in bolstering the national economy through their remittances. He stated that skill development programs can provide the nation”s citizens with better opportunities for employment in foreign countries.

The minister also noted the broader impact of the diaspora, remarking that migrants play a significant part in global economic and social development.
