The University of Chitral’s Political Science department is set for a major academic transformation, overhauling its degree programs from the Associate level to MPhil to comply with new nationwide higher education policies.
The significant curriculum changes were the central focus of the department’s third Board of Studies meeting, the university informed today. The crucial session was convened in the university”s conference room, bringing together distinguished academics and subject specialists from across the region. The gathering included notable figures such as Prof. Dr. Shahida Aman from the University of Peshawar, Prof. Dr. Manzoor Ahmad of Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan, and Dr. Wajid Mehmood from FATA University.
Also in attendance were members from the Degree College for Boys and Girls Degree College Lower Chitral, alongside the faculty of the University of Chitral”s Political Science department, ensuring a comprehensive review process.
The primary agenda for the meeting was the extensive revision of the Associate Degree, Bachelor of Science (BS), and Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Political Science. These amendments are being implemented to align the university”s offerings with the Higher Education Commission”s UGE Policy 2023 and the Revised Curriculum 2025.
During the proceedings, all agenda items were thoroughly examined, leading to a productive exchange of ideas. The assembled scholars provided constructive suggestions and expert feedback, which are expected to substantially enhance the academic rigor and relevance of the department”s programs.
Dr. Sajjad Hussain, the Head of the Department of Political Science at the University of Chitral, formally concluded the session by expressing his gratitude to all the visiting specialists and members for their vital contributions and insightful participation.
