Srinagar, March 04, 2019 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Gilani has said that India’s insensitivity, unconcern and unrealistic approach are the reasons behind the unabated bloodshed in the territory. Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar condemned the excessive use of military force by India against the innocent civilians in Kashmir. He paid glowing tributes to the three youth martyred by Indian troops during a 60-hour cordon and search operation in Handwara area of Kupwara district.
The Chairman of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai in a statement expressed concern over the loss of life and property along the Line of Control. He said the hostile atmosphere, created on the borders for the sheer political purposes, is taking a heavy toll on the civilian populations living on both sides of the Line of Control.
Meanwhile, multiple rounds of funeral prayers were offered for the martyred youth in different areas of the territory. Thousands of people gathered in Sopore to participate in the funeral procession of one martyr, Ishfaq Majeed Mir. The mourners raised pro-Pakistan and pro-freedom slogans. Ishfaq and two other youth were martyred by Indian troops during a long-drawn cordon and search operation in Babagund area of Handwara.
Kashmir trade bodies have called for a valley-wide shutdown, tomorrow, against the ban on Jamaat-e-Islami and the fiddling with the state subject law of Jammu and Kashmir by the Indian government. The announcement was made during a joint press conference addressed by the representatives of various trade bodies led by Muhammad Yasin Khan in Srinagar.
Indian police arrested a dozen more Jamaat-e-Islami leaders and activists in several areas in the occupied territory. Police also arrested Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference leader, Merajuddin Soleh during a raid on his house at Charar-e-Sharif in Badgam, today.
The troops launched cordon and search operations in different areas of Kulgam and Pulwama districts. The troops sealed all the entry and exit points and conducted house-to-house searches. The APHC-AJK leaders addressing a press conference in Islamabad, today, said that Modi led Indian government had started working on horrible plans against the Muslims of Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan and India to achieve victory in coming elections.
