India’s unjustified actions cannot end disputed status of Kashmir: APHC-AJK

Islamabad, July 31, 2022 (PPI-OT):The All Parties Hurriyat Conference AJK General Secretary Sheikh Abdul Mateen has said that August 5, 2019 is the darkest chapter in the history of Kashmiris when the Modi-led Indian government directly attacked the identity of Kashmiris and unilaterally annexed the territory.

Sheikh Mateen in a statement issued in Islamabad said the unjustified unilateral actions by India cannot end the disputed status of Kashmir and the Kashmiri people will continue their struggle for the right to self-determination despite New Delhi’s state terrorism.

The Indian government’s attempt, he said, to change the legal status of the disputed region of Jammu and Kashmir on August 5, 2019 has turned the entire valley into the world’s largest jail. “It has been converted into a prison where the lives of the citizens have been made miserable with the deprivation of all basic rights.”

Sheikh Mateen said that after these illegal actions, the Indian government started subjecting Kashmiri people to the worst cruelty at the hands of its occupation forces. Although, the Kashmiris are forced to face extrajudicial killings, rapes, arrests, ill-treatment and torture, yet they are committed to carry forward their struggle till achievement of freedom from India, he added.
