KARACHI:Lady health workers on Monday staged a protest demonstration in front of Karachi Press Club against the decision to sack over 4000 community-based vaccinators.
The protesters, carrying banners and placards inscribed with slogans seeking the restoration of their jobs, were proceeding to the Governor House but were stopped by the police.
Speaking on the occasion, the anti-polio workers’ leaders said that they had been informed about their jobs’ termination in the holy month of Ramazan, adding their ‘house stoves are run through their jobs’, so sacking them these days is an inhuman act’.
They said that they would not die from corona but die from unemployment. They said WHO should not snatch their jobs and PTI should make justice with them. The lady health workers appealed to Prime Minister Imran Khan to make justice and restore their jobs.
