Lawyers continue protest in Jammu in support of demands

Jammu, August 09, 2022 (PPI-OT):Continuing with its ongoing protest, the IIOJK High Court Bar Association, Jammu, under the leadership of its President M K Bhardwaj held a strong protest in the District Court Complex in Jammu in support of their long pending demands.

The Bar members abstained from work in all the courts including the High Court, District Courts, Tribunals and Commissions. The lawyers have resolved to continue the protest till their grievances are addressed.

Addressing the protesting lawyers, Bhardwaj said that due to the shifting of the Courts and Tribunals outside the District Court Complex, lawyer’s fraternity and general public are facing insurmountable hardships.

“We are seeking the housing of the different Tribunals in single multi-dimensional complex of High Court and there is adequate space available in the court complex”, he further said, adding similar type of multi-dimensional complexes are also required to be constructed in all the Districts and Muffasil Courts so that their genuine grievance can be redressed”.

The lawyers are of the view that the Modi regime is deliberately creating problems for lawyers as well as general public in the occupied territory of Jammu and Kashmir in exchange for their political beliefs, which are not in harmony with that of the ruling class in India.
