Srinagar, November 01, 2018 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front, Muhammad Yasin Malik, has expressed serious concern over the miserable plight of the illegally detained Kashmiris languishing in different jails. Muhammad Yasin Malik in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the condition of Kashmiri detainees was alarming and the jail authorities were hell bent upon making their lives more miserable.
He said, the people of Kashmir are seriously concerned about the health condition of resistance leader, Shabbir Ahmed Dar, JKLF organizer, Siraj-ud-Din Mir who are both seriously ill and have now been shifted to hospital by the authorities of Kot Bhalwal Jail in Jammu and senior resistance leaders, Shabbir Ahmed Shah and Aasiya Andrabi, who are languishing in New Delhi’s jails.
The JKLF Chairman said that India had actually declared a war against the people of occupied Kashmir. He said that being a signatory to the Geneva Convention on prisoners’ rights, it was incumbent upon India to recognize rights of the Kashmiri prisoners but contrary to this, it was suppressing them and subjecting them to worst torture, cruelty, and apathy and putting their lives at risk.
