Khartoum The Third Session of the Sudanese-Chadian Transport Committee was held in Chad's capital N'Djamena on February 26-27, Sudan News Agency (SUNA) reported.
The meetings were co-chaired by Sudanese Minister of Transport, Roads and Bridges Eng. Makkawi Mohamed Awad and Chadian Minister of Infrastructure Adam Younsmi. The two sides stressed the importance of enhancing and facilitating the means of transport, as well as opening the border crossings and removing the barriers preventing transit trade between the two countries.
During the expert meeting, the director of Port Sudan-N'Djamena Railway Project presented a demonstration on the economic and technical feasibility study for the construction of the 3,541km long railroad by China Railway Construction Corporation (CRCC).
At the conclusion of the session, both ministers affirmed their determination to move forward to achieve this project, in line with the directives of the leaders of Sudan and Chad and the aspiration of their peoples to strengthen the relationship between the two neighboring countries.
