Pakistan and China have agreed to enhance institutional linkages between the political parties of the two countries, reaffirming their commitment to further strengthening bilateral cooperation.
The understanding was reached on Tuesday during a meeting between Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar and Minister of the International Department of the Communist Party of China (IDCPC), Liu Jianchao, held in Beijing.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on X, both sides underscored the importance of interparty exchanges in advancing mutual understanding and sustaining the longstanding partnership between Pakistan and China. Strengthened cooperation at the party level was viewed as a means to reinforce strategic coordination and policy alignment.
Senator Dar appreciated China’s consistent support for Pakistan’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and positions on issues of core national interest. He noted that China’s principled stance had always been a source of strength for Pakistan.
Mr. Liu reiterated that China would continue to prioritise its relations with Pakistan, describing the country as an ‘AllWeather Strategic Cooperative Partner’ and ‘ironclad friend.’ He reaffirmed China’s commitment to working closely with Pakistan across all levels of engagement.
The two leaders agreed that expanding partytoparty cooperation would complement broader bilateral ties and contribute to the stability of the relationship.
