In a gesture of solidarity, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif today extended Pakistan’s full support for relief and rescue operations to Malaysia, which has been struck by a deadly cyclone resulting in extensive floods and landslides.

During a telephonic conversation with his Malaysian counterpart, H.E. Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister Sharif conveyed profound condolences over the tragic loss of life and significant property damage caused by the natural disaster.

The Prime Minister, speaking on behalf of the Pakistani government and its citizens, expressed heartfelt sympathies to the people of Malaysia during this period of distress.

He offered prayers for those who perished in the catastrophic weather events and wished for a swift recovery for all individuals who were injured or displaced.

Formally communicating an offer of assistance, Prime Minister Sharif affirmed that Pakistan stands ready to provide any support required by the Malaysian side to cope with the aftermath.

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim of Malaysia expressed his gratitude for the considerate telephonic call, stating that the gesture was a reflection of the close and brotherly ties shared between the two nations.
