Quetta: At least 45 domestic and international flights of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) have been cancelled today as the national flag carrier has started fueling the planes based on the quota system, it emerged Tuesday.
According to the PIA sources, the issue of the non-payment of the pending dues by the PIA to Pakistan State Oil (PSO) is yet to be resolved.
Quetta-bound flights PK322 and PK323 from Lahore have been cancelled. Dubai-bound flights PK233 and PK211 from Islamabad have been cancelled. Two Abu Dhabi-bound flights PK261 and PK262 and four Gilgit-bound flights PK601, PK602, PK605 and PK606 have also been cancelled.
Two Quetta-bound flights PK325 and PK326, and two Skardu-bound flights PK451 and PK452, have also been cancelled. Two Gilgit-bound flights PK605 and PK606, and two Sukkur-bound flights PK631 and PK632, have also been cancelled.
Islamabad-bound flight PK288 from Doha has been cancelled. Riyadh-bound flights PK765 and PK766 from Multan, Dubai-bound flight PK221 and Multan-bound flight PK294 from Sharjah have been cancelled.
According to the flight schedule, four Islamabad-bound flights from Karachi including PK300, PK301, PK368 and PK369 have been cancelled.
Similarly, three Lahore-bound flights including PK302, PK303 and PK306 have also been cancelled. Two Turbat-bound flights including PK501 and PK502 from Karachi have also been cancelled.
Sharjah-bound flights PK209 and PK210 from Sialkot have been cancelled. Riyadh-bound flights PK727 and PK728, and Sharjah-bound flights PK257 and PK258, from Peshawar have also been cancelled. Peshawar-bound flights PK217 and PK218 from Dubai and Abu Dhabi, respectively, have also been cancelled.
Two Sukkur-bound flights PK536 and PK537, and two Quetta-bound flights PK310 and PK311, from Karachi have also been cancelled. Karachi-bound flight PK242 from Saudi Arabia’s Dammam has been cancelled.
It is to be noted here that 27 domestic and foreign flights of the PIA were cancelled on Monday as well.
