ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif telephoned Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on Tuesday to express grief and sorrow over the blast in Bolton market area of Karachi on Monday night in which a woman was killed and over eleven persons were injured.
The Prime Minister assured his government s full support to Sindh government to counter the menace of terrorism. According to the spokesman of Chief Minister House Sindh, the Chief Minister informed the Prime Minister that strict steps are being taken to counter terrorism and expressed the determination that the menace of terrorism will be eliminated with national unity and solidarity.
In the ongoing investigation, it was revealed that 4 kilograms of explosive material was used in the blast while half kilogram of ball bearings was used. The explosive material was planted on a bike.
Karachi has been a target of terrorism in recent times. The first blast in recent days took place inside Karachi University on April 26, in which four people were killed including three Chinese nationals.
This was followed by an improvised explosive device (IED) blast in Saddar area of Karachi on May 12. One person was killed and several others were injured.
